Kiosk shopper journey video I produced.
Checkout-free Shopping
Prior to the pandemic, we partnered with MasterCard to develop a seamless way for customers to enter a checkout-free store, shop and walk out. MasterCard provided us with Zivelo kiosks to develop our prototype. We worked closely with MasterCards internal UX team to develop the ideal shopper journey.
I paired up with our UX researcher to develop prototypes that we can quickly iterate. We performed several user studies, observed interactions, and gathered feedback. We then synced with MasterCards UX team and shared our findings.

In the Wild
Kiosks during the pandemic, when people did not want to touch anything, led Accel Robotics to pivot towards app based store entry. Another major feedback from customers was privacy concerns with entering their phone number to receive a text message with their QR code. When we designed our Valet Market frictionless store, we opted for app based store access. It does have the first time user friction, but return shoppers can conveniently just open their app, scan and enter.
